Race to Nowhere

Race to Nowhere: in Between birth/death was written for Unheard-of Ensemble as a response to Dawn by sculptor Ken Little, a work from the McNay Museum in San Antonio. Inspired by the thematic nature of Little's sculpture, where organic forms are juxtaposed with metallic materials, this piece explores a similar contrast in sound. The use of electronics allows for a blending of musical styles, creating a dialogue between different ideas and textures, just as they do in the sculpture itself.
